About Us
Fifteen people met in the fall of 1984 in the United High School library. Although they had diverse careers and interests, they had one common goal. That goal was to financially assist United High School seniors who wanted to attend college. By meeting frequently and working hard, the group founded and incorporated the United Community Scholarship Foundation on February 12, 1985. The Articles of Incorporation state that the purposes of the Foundation were to:
- To establish, maintain, promote, and operate a Scolarship Foundation, the funds of which shall be used to assist worthy students of United Local School District, Columbiana County, Ohio, in procuring an education.
- To receive, invest, loan, give and handle funds and property as assistance to students in procuring a college education.
- To promote, assist, and sponsor charitable, scientific, literary and education programs and causes
- To do all other things necessary or incidental to the foregoing purposes.
